Have you ever felt like you were somehow not good enough or not equipped enough to serve God? Or maybe you have not yet realized the many ways that the talents that you have can be put to use in service to God? Or maybe you might think that only those who went to Seminary School or Bible College are equipped to serve God? Have you ever wondered...

"Would God even see me as someone who can be used for God's glory?"

Now, what if I were to tell you that YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH. And what if I were to tell you that any skill-set or talent that you have CAN BE USED FOR GOD'S GLORY. And what if I were to tell you that while Seminary School or Bible College can be an asset... not having those diplomas certainly does NOT mean that you are unable, or unqualified to serve God. YOU ARE INDEED ABLE! And God does see all of His followers as people who CAN be used for His glory!

Your talent is God's Gift to you. What you do with it is your gift back to God.

Every person on the planet is blessed with some skillset or another... for some it may be a natural ability to sing or play a musical instrument; for others it may be a love and aptitude for cooking; others might have exceptional talent for writing; another may have an exceptional photographic eye that enables others to see God's beauty in His creation; and some may have natural giftings for public speaking; or for giving comfort and encouragement to those in need of comfort and encouragement. Whatever your giftings, we are all called to use them in service to one another. And we are to use our giftings to Glorify God.

1 Peter 4:10-11 (ESV), "As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ."

The important thing to realise is that God did not give you these gifts for for no reason. And these gifts were never meant to be used for our own self glory. God gave these gifts so that they may be used for HIM! Our gifts are given to us by God in order to serve those around us and bring Glory to God.

Ephesians 2:10 (ESV), “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

That passage I would hope would be self explanatory, but in case it isn't I will paraphrase as best I know how. Basically what Ephesians 2:10 is saying is that as we are God's creation and saved by Grace through Jesus Christ, and that just as Christ taught and showed by his example that we are to do good works... and as God formed us in our mother's womb with a plan and purpose for our lives (that's the God prepared beforehand part)... now God expects that we should walk in His ways and use the skills that He has equipped us with for HIS Glory.

Another important Bible verse on this topic is Matthew 5:14-16 (ESV) in which Jesus says, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."

So we are to use our skills, our talents, our giftings and openly use them in service to God... Why? So that those that see your good works will see God in you; and, that will cause them to seek God more and give Glory to our Heavenly Father who did not leave us to the eternal damnation that we had been deservedly destined for. God instead has graciously made a path for our salvation through Jesus Christ. THIS IS THE GOOD NEWS that we ALL are called to share so that we can bring hope and light to this world.

So be a light bearer and shine the light of Jesus in this world so that others might find their way. And use the gifts, talents and skills that God has equipped you with for His glory.
